They say those who fall in its current are forever ensnared by the river's power, their lives forever corrupted into a desolate melody.
The Great Molasses Flood
On January 15th, 1919, Boston was struck by a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with molasses burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that crashed through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was catastrophic. Homes and businesses crumbled under the force of the unstoppable goo.
The aftermath was tragic. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more suffered injuries. The flood also caused extensive damage to property, leaving a trail of sticky residue in its wake.

It seems like every/all/the majority of surfaces, from sidewalks/cars/buildings, are covered in an unidentifiable goo/substance/mess. People living in Boston are left scratching their heads/wondering what's happening/extremely frustrated. Theories range from/span/abound from alien slime, but the truth remains a mystery. The city/Officials/Local authorities are working to clean up/contain/investigate the sticky situation, but until then, Boston is left navigating/scrambling/dealing website with this sticky/treacherous/tacky predicament.
